Of all of Cantwell’s gourd-inspired creations, some of which border on the bizarre, Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is the most approachable. Pumpkin beers frequently include spices that conjure visions of pumpkin pie, such as clove, cinnamon and nutmeg tinges of ginger and allspice taste right for the season. This style of beer is usually brewed using pumpkin meat along with the grains and hops normally used for brewing. The festival features dozens of locally produced pumpkin beers, along with beers from as far away as Norway. Each fall, Cantwell’s brew crew creates as many as 12 different pumpkin beers for Elysian’s annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival (see page 49). Dick Cantwell, the brewmaster at Elysian Brewing Company, is obsessed with pumpkins.

Oh, the collision available system blares at us in the rain at every stop light that we're hitting something in the front right corner. It's like the manufacturer literally has never heard of memory, nothing in the car stays saved on next startup. The entertainment system that was supposed to have all these great apps available with the monthly Hotspot service has been completely abandoned, the few that are actually there don't function. During this, we get a idle engine critical failure alarm when letting off the brake, which jolts the car forward a bit as the engine starts then stalls then starts again. At a light, stopping engages the idle stop which shuts off the engine, a setting that impossibly must be disabled everytime you start the car. My wife says "oh that's odd, it's usually the driver side that won't close." she's just so used to the problem, even though we've taken it in 2 times for this already, that she's numb to it now. Today, the passenger side sliding door just stopped mid way, no beeping, no backing up, just stopped. When the car started shaking and reducing speed to 30 mph max, I had it towed in to find out fuel injectors needed to be replaced (this car is 2 years old!) and was told the alarms were probably from the toll tag position on the windshield (what?) Luckily, the manufacturer warranty ran out 200 miles before this, and Honda wouldn't cover a penny of it. Most recently, every warning and alarm in the car would come on in startup (brakes failed, engine failed, anti skid out, power steering failed, all of them) every time it rains. There are so many electrical issues, I can't begin to describe them all. We're stuck with it, because the value is far less than what we owe on the loan. To use AVFoundation, you take capture devices, use them to create capture inputs, provide the session with these inputs, and then save the result in capture outputs. According to Apple, the capture session is “an object that manages capture activity and coordinates the flow of data from input devices to capture outputs.” In AV Foundation, capture sessions are managed by the AVCaptureSession object.Īdditionally, the capture device is used to actually access the physical audio and video capture devices available on an iOS device. Sessions, Devices, Inputs, and OutputsĪt the core of capturing photos and videos with AV Foundation is the capture session. Intense belly pain: If endometriosis has caused cysts on one or both of your ovaries, you might deal with sharp, intense pain in your abdomen that could leave you incapacitated, the Merck Manual says. “Mild discomfort with periods may be normal, but pain that stops from working, going to school, or other daily activities is not normal and should be evaluated by a gynecologist,” Simpson says. The researchers discovered most respondents with endometriosis used words like shooting, stabbing, sickening, exhausting, and intense to describe their pain. While endometriosis pain commonly happens during menstruation as hormonal changes trigger those lesions to bleed, it’s also not unusual for people with endometriosis to experience painful cramps even when they don’t have their periods.Īs for how that pain feels? A 2019 study published in the *Journal of Endometriosis and Pelvic Disorders( surveyed 737 women, 529 with endometriosis and the rest without, to try to answer that very question. Painful cramps during your period (but also between periods): Typically, people who have menstrual cramps as a PMS symptom will experience pain or discomfort right before their period, then it will dissipate around four days after their period starts, according to the Mayo Clinic. Here are the most common types of pain associated with endometriosis. With that said, when it comes to a condition as medically mysterious as endometriosis, every bit of potential insight helps. ” Equally subjective are the words we use to describe the pain. “It’s not like there’s a pain-o-meter that you can. “The problem with pain is it’s so subjective,” Minkin says. We asked doctors to break down the specifics of why different types of endometriosis pain can happen and how they might present. Endometriosis can cause different types of pain.Īlthough people with this condition don’t always have symptoms, there’s a reason agonizing pain has become one of the hallmark signs of endometriosis. “Women are given the suggestion that severe pain…is normal.” This normalization means that, in some cases, doctors don’t accurately diagnose or treat people with endometriosis until they’ve been dealing with the condition, and often its characteristic pain, for far too long. “It is my experience that pelvic pain is normalized by some medical providers,” Simpson says. There’s another incredibly relevant and upsetting reason that endometriosis can take years to diagnose. Experts believe roughly 6% to 10% of women are living with the condition, according to the Merck Manual. ![]() ![]() What even is endometriosis?Įndometriosis is a reproductive disorder that happens when cells from the uterine lining-or cells really similar to the ones in that lining-wind up on other organs where they don’t belong. We chatted with three gynecologists to help you think about your symptoms and communicate them to a doctor when the time is right. Still, experts know enough about the signs of endometriosis to offer some clues. So how can you tell whether you’re dealing with signs of endometriosis or something else entirely? The short answer is that you can’t know for sure without talking to a health care provider, and even then, diagnosing endometriosis can be really complicated. Even if you typically take intense pain spells in stride, you might be more worried about this than usual because going to the doctor can be extra fraught due to the new coronavirus pandemic. If your period pain feels unmanageable, you might wonder if you’re experiencing one of the most common signs of endometriosis. ![]() Without further ado, let’s get right into the easy crochet throw pillow pattern! You can completely enclose the pillow, or you can add buttons so it can be removed and washed. Step 4: Sew it all up & embellishĪfter your cover is done, the only thing left to do is insert your pillow form and sew it up! You also have a few options here: Pillows made with positive ease will have a more relaxed fit they won’t “hug” the pillow form as much. Velvet yarn doesn’t have a lot of stretch, so negative ease doesn’t work for it. The Serenity Pillow is made true to size, meaning the pillow cover is the same size as the pillow form. On the other hand, pillows may be made true to size, or with positive ease. This is best for stitches with a lot of stretch. Some crochet pillows are made with negative ease, which means the pillow cover is SMALLER than the pillow form. You’ll want to think about negative/positive ease. When it comes to the size of your cover, it all depends on the size of your pillow form and the stretch of your chosen stitch. ![]() Once you have your pillow form in hand and your stitch chosen, you can start crocheting! This will impact the size you need to make your cover (more on that in a second!) Step 3: Crochet the Cover When choosing a stitch, make sure you consider how stretchy it is. You’ll also want to plan the stitch you’re going to use for the whole pillow. It’s always better if you can measure as you go and make sure the cover you’re making will fit comfortably with the form. Always buy the pillow form before making the pillow. Just make 2 circles, sew partially around, then insert the pillow form and sew the rest of the way around. Keep working in the round, then insert the pillow form and sew up either end.Ĭircle pillow: To make a perfect circle pillow, the method is the same as the 2 squares method. Alternatively, you can make button loops and attach buttons so that the pillow cover can be removed. Insert the form and sew up the last side. Stick the pillow form in, and sew up the last side.Ī long rectangle: Make a long rectangle (at least double the size of your pillow form), fold it in half, and sew up the sides. Just make 2 squares, line them up together, and sew up 3 sides.
